Indus River to be included in CPEC

Islamabad – Federal government has decided to include Indus River in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), utilizing it for conveyance and transportation; the government has started planning to implement it. 

It has been reviled by CPEC Central of Excellence Executive Director, Dr. Shahid Rashid, saying that 68 countries would be linked through One Window One Belt One Road. Chinese investors can invest in any country, so he wanted to make a think tank in Center of Excellency, for conducting research, and was formulated in March 2017. 

Center of Excellence is conducting research in six different departments of CPEC, which would be extended in future. The research is conducted currently in the fields, including social and economic implications in Pakistan, urban development, development in industry and trade by CPEC, steps making the region cohesive by CPEC, financial cooperation and development of employment due to CPEC and human development. 

Center of Excellence Research will play a crucial role in developmental programs and policy-making planning and the excellence has been conducting research for the master plan of smart cities. Work is being jointly done with investing board for establishing nine CPEC zones, making the economic zones successful, for industrial development. 

For the development dynamicity of country’s economy, work is conducted for the production of different financial tasks. Construction of 39 CPEC projects is continued, some of them have already been accomplished. 37 people are working with the Center of Excellence, among them are 24 researchers. 

Vice Chancellor of Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Dr. Asad Zaman has said that media plays the vital role in the development of the country. Advisor to Ministry for Planning Asim Khan Niazi said that the conspiracy making CPEC controversial like Kalabagh Dam has failed and there is complete consensus on CPEC and we need to take absolute benefits of its construction.
