Custom officials exposed embezzlement of Chinese Company

Islamabad –  Customs officials exposed embezzlement of a Chinese company.According to details, customs officials have recovered Rs 1 billion 12 crores from Huaneng Fuyun Ports and Shipping Company, in shape of customs duty.

 The company had formulated an agreement with Port Qasim Authority in 2016, for establishing a dedicated supply of coal to up-country power project (Sahiwal Electric Power Project), through available railway infrastructure in proximity. 

It aimed at providing coal to the Sahiwal Electric Power project without any break. The company had imported 14 consignments and had paid duty on only four consignments.
